The Surveys and Mapping Section is committed to provide accurate and up-to-date information on all aspects of mapping in the country of Belize including horizontal and vertical control. This Section is responsible to
• supervise, verify and monitor the execution of all cadastral surveys in the country
• examine and authenticate plans for all legal surveys
• maintain and provide information on the horizontal and vertical control networks to which all surveys are connected and tied to (geo-referencing)
THIS SECTION OPERATES UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE FOLLOWING TWO REGULATIONS
• THE LAND SURVEYORS ACT
This governs the status and conduct of Land Survey Professionals in Belize.
• THE LAND SURVEYS REGULATION 1977
This controls the standards for the execution of Cadastral Surveys in Belize.
